bVIEW envisions a new future-oriented paradigm for Israel-related discourse on American college campuses that emphasizes innovation, embraces diversity, and empowers students to courageously face the challenges that lie ahead.
Mission Statement
bVIEW is a large,
student-initiated series of programs and corresponding conference focusing on
innovative and powerful visions for the State of Israel’s future. By bringing
together thought-provoking speakers, experiential learning and
participant-driven discussions, bVIEW aims to transcend simplistic rhetoric and
depolarize discussions on campus; through this process, VIEW will create an
exchange of ideas and encourage participants to become visionaries regarding
Israel. Stressing high student involvement, bVIEW will challenge participants
to grapple with political, economic, and social realities, developing a
forward-looking outlook for Israel’s future.
Our Guidelines
Throughout its program, bVIEW is committed to the following guidelines:
Keeping students in the center: As a grassroots movement founded solely by students and for students, bVIEW will always keep the student in the center. While expert speakers can be versatile for enriching the conversation, bVIEW will always emphasize round-table, student led discussions, during which students can share their visions and ideas, and listen to others.
By student and for students: bVIEW was founded by students, and is directed by students only. No "adults" involved.
No political agenda: bVIEW does not promote any one specific political agenda. It welcomes anyone who cares about Israel, the Middle East and those who live in the region, regardless of where they stand on the political spectrum, to engage in a constructive and respectful conversation.
Learning from those who have been there: bVIEW believes that the best way to learn about the challenges facing Israel and the Middle East, is by talking to people who are speaking for themselves telling their personal accounts.
Talking the talk and walking the walk: bVIEW works to improve the discussion not only because talking is important, but because a better conversation about Israel naturally brings people together, nourishes more innovative ideas and ultimately results in better action. bVIEW seeks to empower students to take what they learned, and work to actualize their vision for Israel.
